What is Bridge in Computing

A bridge in computing is arrange to provide availability of two different LAN connectivity on a single time in the same time. This helps to increase the rate of bandwidth by the combination of two networks on LAN an ability to transfer data between two different protocols.

In computer networking, a bridge helps the same purpose, it attaches two or more local area networks (LANs) together, the device is similar to a router, but it does not investigate the data being forwarded. Because of this, bridges are usually fast at transferring data, but not as adaptable as a router. For example, a bridge cannot be used as a firewall like most routers can. A bridge can transfer data between different protocols and works at the "data link layer" or level 2 of the Open Systems Interconnection networking reference model.
